Sports for Employment (S4E)

S4E was constituted to bridge the existing gap between ‘Education only, for employment’ and ‘Sports for employment.’ It provides the platform for Skills based Training and Employment in the sports sector specially to cater to that segment of our youth population that is talented and aspires to build a promising and respectable career in sports.

With the largest youth population in the world, India is witnessing a distinct change in youth aspirations and the kind of opportunities they are seeking.

Tanjun is a Knowledge Consultant to the Sector Skills Council for Sports SPEFL of NSDC, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Sports Nawaab (Nawaab in Hindustani refers to the nobles and rulers of erstwhile states of India)

This is the first time in India and probably the largest ever in the world, ‘Sports Action Research for Skill Development & Livelong Employment’ initiative. The program projects high visibility because of its overland travel design and sincere youth involvement through one-to-one interfaces and physical filling of individual questionnaires across India. It is a tri-pronged approach to collect sports related data, aspirational data and create a cultural shift towards a more fitness oriented population.

Kangaroo BoxInd

For the first time in India, an Australian form of Modified Boxing (ModBox) is being introduced to the school going youth. It is a popular sport practised under the guidance of ‘Boxing Australia’ (the federation responsible for control of Australian amateur boxing). The India program is focused towards Fitness & Employability Skills Development facilitated by the Australian Government’s aid program, Asia Sports Partnerships (ASP).

The India initiative has been named “Kangaroo BOXIND” and is being front ended by SEDA (Sports Education Development Australia’s India office).
